Reserve scientists pull a seine in a tidal creek. The catch is carried back to a seawater laboratory where everybody helps sort, identify and measure the collection of fishes, shrimps and crabs. FREE limited to 10 people ages 10 & up.

11th Annual Myrtle Beach Independence Day 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run

One of the largest races in the Myrtle Beach! Choose from the 5K and a 1-mile fun run. The race course is through Market Common and features highlights of the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. The Conway Chamber of Commerce will host a fireworks display on July 4, 2020 at 9:30 PM. There will be no event during the day. We invite locals and visitors to join us as we celebrate Independence Day in Conway. Spectators can safely enjoy the display as the fireworks will be visible from many areas throughout downtown.

Independence Day Golf Cart Parade

Time: 1:00 PM
Prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for the most Patriotically decorated golf cart. No political decorations. Carts must complete the parade, no walking, water guns, water balloons, spray bottles etc. Line up begins at 12:30 pm July 4th at 411 Highway 17 South. I:00pm, the parade leaves the parking lot, continues down 4th Ave South to South Poplar Drive. Parade turns left onto Poplar Drive until it turns right on 3rd Ave South. Parade continues down 3rd Ave South until Ocean Blvd. Parade turns left (North) onto Ocean Blvd, continues to Neal and Pam’s for judging. After judging, parades goes to 16th Ave North.
Myrtle Beach 4th of July Fireworks at Second Avenue Pier

A big fireworks show is set for the fourth of July. Sponsors are McDonald’s and Budweiser. Everyone’s invited, but please wear masks and practice safe social distancing due to COVID-19. The show will be visible up and down the beach, so social distancing should not be an issue!

The 11th Annual Salute from the Shore will begin, as always, at 1:00 PM on July 4th in Cherry Grove, SC, just north of Myrtle Beach. This year’s Salute will include a flyover of F-18s from Marine Aircraft Group 31 from MCAS Beaufort and a C-17 Globemaster from the 701AS, Joint Base Charleston. The Flyover will commence at 1:00 PM in Cherry Grove and conclude over the May River Sandbar in Bluffton, SC around 1:25 PM.

Brookgreen in 2020 will have an immersive experience in art and light. Internationally known, Bruce Munro, will bring his spectacular large-scale light sculptures to the gardens, allowing visitors to see the gardens in a new light. The exhibit will feature seven works of art in light and mixed media, each designed specifically for the natural garden rooms where they will be installed. The illuminated installations will consist of tens of thousands of components. Regular exhibit evenings – May 15, 2020 – September 12, 2020 – Tickets Wednesdays – Saturdays 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. (gates open at 6:00 p.m.)
